Execution Rules & Parameters:
  • Strategy Configuration: 30-pip Take Profit, 25-pip Stop Loss, 3-hour maximum holding duration.
  • Broker Sync: Most MetaTrader 5 brokers run on GMT+3 (EET). Select "Broker Server Time" in the dropdown to view MT5 chart times.
  • Asian Session Spread Control: When trading EURNZD or Oceanian crosses during Asian hours, allow wider spread tolerance (up to 5–6 pips) due to daily rollover liquidity drops.
Asian Session Forex Liquidity & Spread Optimization

When trading during Asian session hours (Sydney/Tokyo, roughly 17:00 to 02:00 EDT), liquidity drops across European and North American currencies while local regional economies drive market volume.

1. Top Tier: Lowest Spread Asia Crosses (0.8 – 1.8 Pips)

These pairs feature active domestic markets in Wellington, Sydney, or Tokyo, giving them deep institutional liquidity and tight spread pricing even during late night hours.

Currency Cross Typical Asia Spread Primary Liquidity Drivers Why Spreads Stay Low
AUD/JPY 0.8 – 1.4 pips RBA, Sydney / Tokyo Overlap King of Asia Crosses. Australia & Japan are actively trading simultaneously.
NZD/JPY 1.2 – 1.8 pips RBNZ, Wellington / Tokyo Deep regional liquidity from New Zealand and Japanese interbank flows.
AUD/NZD 1.2 – 1.8 pips RBA / RBNZ, Trans-Tasman Pure regional cross; both central bank and export flows execute in real time.
EUR/JPY 1.2 – 1.8 pips Tokyo Fix, Bank of Japan High baseline liquidity across global banks keeps spreads tight despite Europe being asleep.
2. Mid Tier: Moderate Spread Crosses (1.8 – 3.0 Pips)

These pairs involve one active Asian-Pacific currency paired with a major western currency. Spread width depends on broker routing, but they remain easily tradable under a standard 3.5 pip spread limit.

Currency Cross Typical Asia Spread Notes & Execution Guidance
CAD/JPY 1.8 – 2.5 pips Very active cross; oil inventory headlines and Tokyo interbank demand maintain fair liquidity.
GBP/JPY 2.0 – 2.8 pips High intraday volatility ("The Dragon"); spread widens slightly, but pip movement offsets the cost.
EUR/AUD 2.0 – 3.0 pips Trades smoothly during Australian morning releases (01:00–03:00 GMT+3).
3. Avoid During Asia: High Spread / Liquidity Trap Crosses (>3.5 – 10+ Pips)

LIQUIDITY DRAIN WARNING

Crosses that do not include JPY, AUD, or NZD experience severe liquidity drain during Asian hours because neither underlying central bank or economy is active.

  • EUR/NZD & GBP/AUD: Spreads widen dramatically to 3.5 – 8.0+ pips during Asian session hours.
  • The Rollover Spike (17:00–18:00 EDT / 00:00–01:00 GMT+3): During daily broker bank settlement, spreads on European/Oceania crosses like EURNZD routinely blow out to 10–15+ pips.
Spread Optimization Rules for Your EA Schedule:
  • For EURNZD (09:10 EDT / 16:10 Broker): This trade executes during the New York Session, NOT Asia. Spreads are naturally tight (1.2–2.2 pips) at this time.
  • For Asian Session Windows (17:50 EDT & 21:45 EDT):
    • If you trade EURNZD at 17:50 EDT, you must use a wider spread allowance (InpMaxSpreadPips = 5.0 to 6.0) because of the 17:00 EDT broker rollover spike.
    • If you swap or add AUDJPY, NZDJPY, or CADJPY into those evening windows, spreads will be under 1.8 pips, allowing you to enforce tight spread protection (InpMaxSpreadPips = 2.5).

Historical scaling illustration — not an earnings forecast or a new backtest. USD account and USD contract values only. One alternative per exposure family across both platforms. Blue = Nasdaq; purple = US30; teal = SUI. Colors identify exposure, not safety.

Recorded net already includes the costs used in its test. Inputs above add cost stress; do not enter the same included fees twice. SUI Pine financing was excluded. Broker levels must use Equity ÷ Used Margin × 100; cash-based stop-out accounts are unsupported. Futures use verified broker margin per contract, not notional ÷ leverage. Missing specifications leave limits unavailable. Only the tested configurations listed below have return data; other bots on a hosting page are not assigned these results.

Each maximum assumes this row alone, after existing margin. Selected rows share one equity balance. Sum of scaled drawdowns is a stress comparison, not measured combined drawdown. Different test dates, correlations, variable position sizes, fills, gaps, tiered margin and broker limits prevent linear scaling from proving executable returns. No compounding. Re-run Strategy Tester and forward-test any size change. Pine native trailing results are particularly fill-sensitive ($164,310 versus $56,910 completed-close comparator); US30 failed doubled-cost stress. NAS100 SAR August lost $3,784.55 at .01 lot, DD $4,791.05; that larger DD is used for its stress limit.
